And it wasn’t for padding either, because the entire thing is only 289 words. Incidentally, I really wish I’d thought to start the story with “In the beginning”.

David’s descent into corruption is coming along well. But what will he do next? That’s the question, and I mostly know the answer, but plans can change. I’ve also been thinking more about the ending. Still not entirely sure how I want it to end, but I’m swinging one way more than the other, so again, we’ll have to see.

EDIT: Wow, can I just say I’m really shocked at all the negative comments about this chapter, since in my head I really thought this was one of the best ones yet for this story. I guess I messed up in the pacing of the story. I’m taking your comments on board and attempting to slow things down a bit and put things right for the next chapter. Hopefully.
