The Act of Vengeance

Chapter 1

I had been really excited to go to high-school. I wanted nothing more than to finally abandon my boring primary school and join the grown-ups. In primary school I would usually stroll down the hallways, having only but my thoughts as occupation. I was fairly smart for my age, at least smarter than most of the other kids attending the school. My patient teacher tried to repeat as much of the curriculum as possible. He probably just wanted to give the slow learners a fair chance, but for me it had been dreadful. I only needed one lesson to comprehend his teachings and consequently I struggled to keep my mouth shut at the others. One day he finally had enough. After school hours he pulled me aside and told me I didn’t have to attend repeating classes anymore. However, I still had to stay on school grounds doing something school related. And so I did absolutely nothing of worth. I had friends; sure, they just all existed of slow learners. I craved for something new, something refreshing. So when it was time for me to go I was filled with joy.

My delight was quickly turned to ash in my mouth as I clumsily trudged through my first year of high-school. I had been told it was normal for seniors to bully the juniors, so I just ignored them. After a while they were getting more and more skilled in making my life miserable. My classmates had been victims in the first year as much as I was, but as the years progressed they began to aim all their firearms at me. I quickly understood why. While my classmates grew taller and more masculine each month, I pretty much remained the same: A wimpy kid looking no more than thirteen years old. My outstanding grades didn’t help either. I didn’t wear glasses and neither did I wear old-fashioned clothes, but that didn’t stop them from calling me a nerd. They would insult me, harass me and even hit me whenever the opportunity presented itself. I can say with complete certainty those were the most agonizing years I’ve ever experienced.
Finally, after several years of torture, fate smiled upon me. My body entered a rapid succession of improvements. It was as if my whole body was given a highly concentrated dose of testosterone. Over a period of seven months I grew about seven and a half inch, making my length a total of six feet. My muscles were only too eager to grow, especially after I had decided to work out every few days. Due to all the abuse I had suffered, my face grew harsh and frigid. Furthermore, I always made sure that my dark brown hair wouldn’t grow too long. All it would do was add one more weakness to the bullies’ list. After all these changes I finally looked like my age, perhaps even older (I was about nineteen). Despite my reputation, girls started to give me quick glances as I slowly paced past them. Even the bullies became more hesitant at my beat up sessions but continued nonetheless. They outnumbered me seven to one after all.

It didn’t take long for something extraordinary to happen. During my favourite subject, which was chemistry, a teacher by the name Rivers gave us an assignment.

“You are to write an essay on polymers. You can either focus on the broad aspect of polymers or go in depth about just one. It is your choice. You can do whatever you want with the subject, as long as you keep it structural and informative. You’ll have to hand it in the next month. ” He checked if he still had the attention of the class.

“However,” he continued, “this assignment has to be done in pairs.” The class `burst out in excitement. I just sighed and was already preparing myself to convince him to let me work alone.

“Yes?” Mr Rivers raised his eyebrow.

“I have a question,” I began, “is it poss-“

“We would like to work together on the assignment,” A girl sitting behind me butted in.

Her words had penetrated my ears, but my mind didn’t progress them.

Mr Rivers seemed surprised as well. He knew I wasn’t beloved and was wondering why one of the most popular girls of the school had spoken these words. Her friendly freehearted nature combined with her stunning beauty, were enough to drive the boys nuts.
He quickly snapped out of it and nodded.

“Very well, if Alan is ok with it I don’t mind.” Everybody’s eyes were locked on me, none of them believing what just happened.

“S-sure.” I stammered.

“That’s settled then.” Mr River turned his attention back to the class, “anybody else that has already formed groups?”

What had she planned? There had been no doubt in my mind that this was a trick, a trap designed to utterly humiliate me. It still surprise me though, Lena had always been the girl that did whatever she damn well pleased. I found it saddening that even she was sucked in by the bullies. Ian must’ve convinced her to join the dark side. As I knew too well he could be quite persuasive.
I furiously clenched my fist. He had been responsible for all this. The others were most likely just scared of him. Somehow I had to deal with him. That however, would have to wait. First I had to unravel Lena’s intentions. I decided to confront her as soon as possible.

Unable to further concentrate myself on class, I descended into my realm of thoughts. Time flew by and before I knew it class was finished. I had barely packed my stuff when she suddenly appeared next to me.
She leaned forward and whispered in my ear: “Meet me at 8 pm tonight at school.”
Her breath gently engulfed my ear causing me to gasp. Before I could answer she walked off.
I followed her every step without moving an inch. What had just happened? It took me nearly thirty seconds to regain control of myself. I finished up packing and braced myself for Ian. Ian and his gang would always wait for me near the exit to remind me who was in charge, but this time they were no were to be seen. Instead of being relieved like I should have been, I grew suspicious. It was too much of a coincidence. I carefully made my way to my car, expecting trouble any minute. It never came.

I never told anything to my parents about the bully sessions. There was simply nothing they could do. Moving was no option, because that would require my dad to find a new job. Furthermore, contacting school would only work counter-productive. Knowing that my parents would insist on doing something about it I left them in ignorance. After a while they had noticed my lack of social activities, so I told them we used the internet to hang out. An advantage of living in the 21th century.

I hadn’t even loosened my shoes yet when my mother came rushing down on me.

“Dad finally got that deal we’ve so been struggling to get!” She exclaimed.

“That’s fantastic!” I tried to match her enthusiasm. In truth I didn’t even know what the deal was about.

“It is! We’ll be going out to dinner tonight to celebrate,” her smile reached to her ears.

“Awes-” I stopped midway. I had totally forgotten about my ‘appointment’ with Lena.

“I-I can’t tonight.” My voice hurt a bit speaking the words. I knew she loved to go on family trips, even if it was just dinner. “I’m meeting some friends at school. We can’t use Skype this time. You see we are doing an assignment together and-”
“Fine, fine. I’ll just postpone it then,” she sighed, “it’s going to be a huge pain to persuade your dad to cancel his meetings again.”

“I’m sorry,” I apologized.

“Don’t be, you go have fun with your friends.”

I spent my entire afternoon researching polymers for the small chance that this wouldn’t be a set up. It was better to come prepared for every scenario. Besides if it was to be a set up, I would still have to produce the essay. I had been working until mom returned home with some pizzas. I expressed my gratitude and devoured my meal. I looked at my watch to see if I still had some time to work out. It was half past seven. I rushed upstairs and took a quick shower. Not sure whether or not I was ready I stepped inside my car.

I didn’t notice her at first, but she quickly caught my attention. She was leaning against the school, waving her hands above her head. I sighed letting out my accumulated tension. At least she was here without Ian. It wasn’t until I drove next to her that I was struck by her sparkling beauty. Evidently she hadn’t considered this as a study meeting. Her red dress reached up to halfway her knees and her make-up was more on display than usual, highlighting her blue eyes beneath her long brown hair.

“So where are you taking me?” she asked while getting in the car.

“I-I…” I couldn’t find the words. I was beyond embarrassed by appearance. Compared to her I looked like a beggar. I had absolutely neglected the possibility of this being a date. I felt like the stupidest man alive and wanted to hit myself with a rock. Then again, who considers pairing up for an assignment a date? I should’ve at least suspected it when she had whispered the time in my ears. I cursed softly.

“Something wrong?” Her deep blue eyes stared into mine.

“No, not at all.” I had to keep it together. Maybe now I could finally snap out of my shitty reputation.

“So what did you have in mind?” She asked with an amused smile.

“Let’s catch a movie first,” I spoke with as much confidence as I could manage. My mind was racing. Where the fuck do I take her to eat? Do I even have my wallet on me? How can I have prepared for everything except this?

“Sounds fun.” She relaxed in her chair.

“I’m sure it will be.” I forged a nervous smile.

After five minutes I could breathe normally again. I had found my wallet inside the pocket of my coat and we made it to the cinema alive.
I let her pick a movie and paid for both of us. She had insisted on paying for herself, but I just shrugged it off.

“I’ve already paid, let’s not complicate things.” Dad may have never been home, but he did bring in some real money.

As she walked down the stairs towards our seats I saw that her ass was even better than I had assumed. It was stupid either way. If she hadn’t been acting then she would surely find me too rude to advance our actions. I should’ve just banged her and then ask her what was going on.

“At least that is what they think,” she continued.

I raised my eyebrow.

“Ian approached me about a week ago, saying he had a proposal for me. This proposal turned out to be a demand. His father is the boss of a company my mother works for. He threatened to fire her if I were to disobey him. My mother loves that damn job. Initially I was extremely frightened thinking of all the horrible things he would’ve me do. I was extremely relieved when I heard what he wanted. He asked me to hook up with you. I’ve had a crush on you for some time now, but your reputation made it difficult for me to contact you. I was also sure you wouldn’t even think about dating, considering your situation. So for me to hook up with you was the best thing he could’ve asked of me. I didn’t quite understand though, he hates you. Why would he want to match us? Then it struck me, he didn’t. It was his girlfriend Amy. She’s always bitching to me about how I should stay away from Ian. He was way above my league, she claimed. I guessed she wanted to break my popularity by matching me with the most unpopular guy she could find. Ian however, did add something for his own pleasure . I had listened diligently. This time Ian had gone too far. It was time for me to break him, starting with his girlfriend ‘Amy’. First I had to make sure Lena was safe from Ian. Even though she was about to deliver me into the hands of this soulless bastard, I understood her situation. Besides, she just confessed her feelings towards me.

“He would’ve raped you as soon as you arrived, making me watch my date getting violated.” I stated, clenching my fist. I’ll make him pay.

Lena gasped in shock. She hadn’t realized she was to be raped as well. I thought she was going to cry for real now.

“Let me deal with this. I’ll take you home for now.” I started the engine.

“Wait! What about my mother?” She asked desperately.

“Didn’t I say to let me handle this?” I tried not to let my hate pour on her, which was very hard to manage at that moment.

She remained silent for the rest of the ride, afraid to anger me. And indeed, I was angry at her, but she was a victim. The real culprit was waiting in an abandoned house.

When I arrived home I thought everything over again. She could’ve contacted Ian and probably has; Ian didn’t like to wait around. I hoped she had invented a lie, which would make it easier to track down Amy. I had decided to abduct her and show her what real fear is. I knew she wasn’t the real culprit here, at least to me, but by using her I could get rid of Ian. It wasn’t like she didn’t deserve it. Yes my plan had been decided.
The few next days I called in sick. I would need all the time I could get to prepare for my trap. I secretly bought a used trailer from the internet. It was located in the middle of nowhere, but still fairly close by, which was exactly what I needed. I bought for about 500 dollars on ropes and the like and another fifty dollars on a fake taxi sign. I asked my dad for a little more money and pimped my car so it was no longer recognizable. Soon everything was set up and I called Lena.

“Lena, it’s me. I need you to- ”

“O my god Alan, they’ve done it. They really fired my mother!” I heard her crying on the other side.

Fuck, I need to deal with that as well. Perhaps my dad can help. I could probably talk him into hiring her.

“Alright, alright. Calm down. I think I can arrange something. In the meanwhile I need you to do something for me.”

“Uhuh…” She was still sobbing a little.

“I need you to get her drunk and order a taxi from your house. Can you manage that?” I could almost hear her thinking.

“I think so, but what do you-”

“I’ll tell you later,” I really wasn’t going to tell her. I had to think of a good lie, “Also can you manage to do so this Saturday?”

“I guess, but- ”
“Ok that’s settled then. Just call me when she’s standing outside waiting for a taxi. I’ll contact you later.” I hung up.
That wasn’t so hard. Now I just needed to patiently wait until Saturday. If Amy is so keen on making commands, I’ll make her obey my every desire. I smiled at the thought. Yes, things are about to change.

Saturday came around way too quickly. I was reluctant to separate myself from my bed due to a lack of sleep. Despite my present fear, I had already concluded to move along with the plan. With Amy by my side, I could surely manipulate Ian and that would put a stop to my living hell. I didn’t even care about all the risks involved. Prison could hardly be any worse than what I had already endured. I just hoped Lena would make the call.

“You still look pale,” my mother remarked when I walked down the stairs, “all those free time didn’t do much good I see.”

“I’m alright ma. I just need to take a shower,” I said as I made my way to the shower.
The water was undeniably invigorating and I didn’t leave the shower for nearly an hour, taking my time to relax.

“Are you alright in there?” Mom sounded worried.

“I’ll be out in a moment.” I dried myself off and put on some new clothes I had bought. Within five minutes I was busy eating my lunch. I had tried to sleep most of the morning and thus missed breakfast.

“Dad’s already gone to work,” Mom had already eaten her lunch and was sitting on the couch watching some TV. “I’ll be off too soon,” she went on, “you can order some pizza if you want.”

“That’s quite alright mom. I will be eating with my friends.” I swallowed my last sandwich and stood up. “In fact, I have to leave right now.”

Mom gestured me to give her a goodbye kiss. I rolled my eyes and, after giving her what she wanted, went straight for my car. I had totally forgotten to refuel it. I made a hasty stop at the gas station, before parking my car a couple of streets away from Lena’s house. It wasn’t that hard to find addresses of people, especially if you knew what to look for. I yawned and closed my eyes trying to catch some more sleep. After all, I had still plenty of time.
I awoke to the sound of my ringtone.

Fuuuuuck, it is finally time!

I hesitated before answering the phone.

Here we go. I picked up the phone.

“Hey, with me. How are you holding up? Will you come home tonight?” All the blood in my face withdrew.

“H-hi mom. I’m a little busy here, but I’m fine. I might be a little later tonight. I’ll call you back later ok?” My voice quivered. Why did she have to call now?

“Fine. Well, take care now.” She hung up a bit upset by my rejection.

I leaned on my forehead and wiped my face. Her timing couldn’t be worse.
Suddenly my phone rang again. This time checked who was calling me. It was Lena. I stretched my neck and picked up the phone for the second time.

“With-” I started.

“She’s out now. I b-believe she is unconscious.” She laughed. I could almost smell the alcohol through the phone.

“Okay, I’ll be right there. Don’t do anything stupid now.” She was way too drunk to notice my underlying tone of fear.

“Me? Doing anything stupid? You are stupid,” her loud laugh hurt my ears, “she has already called for a cap though. I guess it was a little too late,” Before she could laugh again I quickly hung up. She has really done it, I thought amazed. Now it was my time.

I double checked my car before entering her house. If she were to wake up before reaching the trailer, it must be unmistakable that she’s in cap. Lena playfully opened the door. Her mind was too clouded to see the gravity of the situation.

“Where is she?” I scanned the room, not wanting to waste any time. She could wake up any fucking minute. Finally realizing why I was so stressed she lead me towards Amy. Amy was lying face down on the couch, spit drooling from her mouth. Just like Lena most of the boys found her extremely attractive and I wouldn’t argue with them. “You.” She snarled, appearing to be more angry than shocked. What has Ian said about me?

“Yes indeed,” I grimaced, “the one you’ve ridiculed all these years.” She hadn’t been directly involved, but was always sure to laugh the loudest at my predicament. Besides, she was a well-known manipulator. She preferred to let others do her dirty work.

Her eyes sprung open as if she just discovered her situation.

“Let me go you idiot! Ian will murder you if he heard-”

“He will hear nothing,” I grabbed her hair and crudely swung her head back, exposing her throat.

“You are in no position to make threats, do you understand?” I emphasized every word.

“You fucking-“

I gave her hair a firm yank, resulting in a shocking gasp.

“Listen very carefully you bitch. I’ll only explain this once, capiche?” I weakened my grip a bit for her to answer.

“You can’t touch me. Don’t you dare to touch me, you fucking creep. The police will be here before you c-“

I was done hearing this shit. Obviously she hadn’t fully grasped my determination. I had Lena erase all the evidence. Amy’s parents were totally against drinking and were very strict on this subject. She got in plenty of fights with them because of it. After drinking as much as she could at Lena’s she told Lena, and all the other girls that were invited to Lena’s party, she fantasized about running away. “Good. I don’t like to do it, but I am prepared to kill you anytime. You make sure to remember that.”

“O,god…” she was still sobbing, “W-why me? God why would do this?”

“You know damn well!” I rose my voice in anger, “you and your pathetic friends have made my life miserable FOR YEARS. YOU EVEN FUCKING PLANNED TO HAVE LENA RAPED!”

I paused to gather my breath.

“You are a blackmailing manipulative cocksucker. Luckily I won’t have to blackmail you into obeying my commands.” I glanced at the knife.

“Please, let me go,” she begged, “I won’t tell anyone what happened. I will even tell Ian to leave you alone. Just please… let me go.”

“It’s too late now. You’ve had years to make up your mind.”

“You FUCKING ASSHOLE! If you think you’ll get away with- ”

She blinked. A few tears rolled out her eyes.

“Good girl. Now the rules:. Rule #1: From here on forth I will be your Master. You belong to me from top to toe. Rule #2: You will always, and I mean always, address me as Master. She interrupted me with a faint whisper: “Have you lost your mind?”
