The Chauffeur (#38) The Investigation Begins
Introduction:
When I woke up the next morning, I found myself in bed with both Jill and Dakota.

CHAPTER 1
The next morning when I woke up, I found myself in bed with both Jill and Dakota once again. Jill faced away from my back and Dakota was all snuggled into me with her cute ass pushed up against my groin.
Once again, my bladder ruled my brain urging me to head to the bathroom. I quietly moved out of the bed and into the bathroom.
After finishing my morning duties, I washed my hands and came out of the bathroom looking at my two lovelies still sleeping. I put on a pair of shorts and a tee shirt and headed out to the kitchen grabbing my phone off the charger on the way out.
Once in the kitchen, I poured myself a glass of juice and just sat at the kitchen table seeing Bobby and Sammy still putting things away from yesterday’s party. Looking at all they were still putting away, I just figured that my boy John would be in left-over heaven.
Both Jennifer and Sharon came out to the kitchen as well. Each one kissed me before they sat down. Bobby flicked the switch and the coffee pot roared to life making both ladies smile.
As we sat there, I asked, “Ladies, is it me or has John been looking and acting much more mature?”
Jennifer started, “Are you kidding us, David? He’s been trying so hard these past few months to emulate you that how could he NOT look and act more mature. Holy crap, you are old enough to really be his Father, and for that, I am so thankful. Many times, when I hear Dakota call you ‘Daddy’ I think that maybe John should be calling you the same thing. You have done more for him in the past few months than his biological Father ever did,” she says to me with a big smile on her face.
Sharon adds, “Jeeze David, he dresses like you, he shaves every day even on Sunday, he handles himself in a much more mature manner, he has shown you and Jill that he is really responsible and when times got a bit scary he buckled down and made sure all of us ladies were safe and secure, starting with Jennifer and Diane,” she says before leaning into me and giving me a kiss.
Seeing Sharon do that, caused Jennifer to do the same.
I looked at the clock and saw that it was nearly 8 am. I had to think a moment as to what day it was, but then remembered it was Sunday. I heard a knock at the front door. Jennifer got up and went to the door, opening it carefully. A large man with half an unlit cigar in his mouth showed her his FBI identification. She asked why he was here, and he told her that he needed to speak to me. She called out to me.
When I reached the front door, I opened it wide and invited the gentleman inside. He declined and asked me to step outside, which I did.
I saw several agents buzzing around taking pictures and measurements.
“Hello, Mr. Greene. I’m Captain Perez. Washington sent me to handle the investigation of yesterday’s shooting,” he told me.
“Well, Captain, it’s David. Mr. Greene is my deceased Father,” I tell him.
“Sir, I apologize, but FBI protocol requires me to call you Mister until the case is wrapped up,” he explains which was the first time someone had rebuffed my attempts to be called David, which I was fine with since it made sense.
“Well, Captain. Let me ask, how are all your agents?” Looking at him, causing me to squint a bit looking towards the morning sun.
I stepped a couple of steps to his side to avoid looking into the sun. He turned with me and said, “All the agents are fine. The most serious one was Agent Don…um…hold on for a second while I check my notes. Oh, here it is, Agent Don McHenry. Yes, he’s fine. The hospital stitched him up and sent him home late last night,” he tells me.
I summon Sharon over and tell her the news. She kisses me on the cheek and runs off to get her phone. In literally seconds, I see her chatting with someone, whom I assume is Agent Don. I see her smile. She puts her phone down and comes back to me telling me she is heading over to his house to ‘take care of him’ all the while she is smiling her big beautiful smile. I check with the Captain to make sure it is OK for her to leave, and he gives her the thumbs-up.
She quickly heads off to change clothes and go see Agent Don.
Captain Perez begins, “Mr. Greene, I hope you understand that it’s nothing personal, but you are a suspect as well,” he tells me in a sincere manner.
“May I offer your investigation some assistance?” I ask.
“How can you do that?”
“I can make you a DVD of all of our security cameras in just a few minutes if you are interested?” I ask.
“Absolutely,” he tells me.
I invite him inside and he follows me to the security setup in the kitchen. He looks at the security setup and nods his head in approval.
“Captain just give me a couple of minutes and I’ll have that DVD for you,” I tell him.
“Mr. Greene, do you have a copy of the other shooting your house took a couple of weeks ago as well?”
“Of course, would you like a copy of that as well?” I ask him. He nods his head in approval. I wait for yesterday’s shooting to be copied to the DVD disk before I callup the other shooting and begin to copy it as well.
I put the first DVD into a clear case and hand it to the Captain.
I see Bobby and Sammy with a platter of meat out. Bobby begins to wrap up several steaks into a large piece of tinfoil. Sammy is wrapping about 8-10 ribs into two large pieces of tinfoil When all the meat is wrapped up, they put the three pieces of wrapped meat into a paper bag and hand it to Captain Perez, who tries politely to refuse. They won’t hear of it and force him to take the paper bag.
I just smile.
I ask him if he would like a cup of coffee, he declines to say that he needs to get back outside to supervise his guys and the investigation.
“Captain, may we discuss someone from the City Police for a couple of minutes?” I say as we are walking back towards the front door.
“Certainly,”
“I’m not sure if you are familiar with a City Police Lieutenant Horowitz. I mean, I’m not sure if Special Agent Fernandez made mention of him in his reports or not,” I say to the Captain.
“Well, yes there were a couple of notations about him, but what do you want to say about Lt. Horowitz?” He asks.
“Don’t trust him. He’s about as shady as a cop can get without getting booted off the force. It is my understanding that he is quietly being investigated by the US Attorney,” I tell him.
“Well, Mr. Greene, it’s more than just an investigation, but I believe that he is on the verge of being indicted,” He tells me putting his finger to his lips indicating that I’m not supposed to say anything. I nod my head affirmative to acknowledge his request for me to be silent on the matter.
Once back outside, Captain puts his food and the DVDs into his agency vehicle. He reaches into his pocket and hands me his card. I see it has the Hoover building address on it from DC.
“So, you’re actually from DC?” I ask.
“Yes, I am. There are places that are wonderful to live, but parts of DC are just as ghetto as some of the more well-known ghettos across the country such as Watts and South-Central LA. I live in Virginia, but I work in DC,” he tells me.
“Well, I’m probably going to be stopping in DC sometime later this week. My company just bought a tower and I need to go visit it,” I tell him.
“Which tower?”
“We bought the one that was owned by the Kraft company,” I tell him.
“Oh, I hope you’re going to clean that building up. It was built a little less than ten years ago, but you wouldn’t believe it. In DC there is lots of money spent ensuring that buildings stay clean and neat in appearance, but not the Kraft building. It looks as if they build it and just stopped taking care of it the moment it became occupied,” he tells me, which really surprised me that we would get such an honest perspective of the building.
“Well, it’s no longer going to be called the Kraft building. We’re renaming it the Eagle. We have renamed all of the towers that we bought after a bird of some sort,” I tell him.
“Where else did you buy?” He asks.
“Well, here in LA, which we call the Hawk. One in Tampa, which we call the Flamingo, one in Madison Wisconsin which we call the Snowy Owl, and one in Toronto that we call the Blue Jay,” I tell him.
“That will be nice to change the names to give people the understanding that ownership has changed,” the Captain says.
“We’re also looking at one in Atlanta, that if we get it, we will call that one the Falcon and one in Phoenix that we will call the Cardinal, there’s also a potential one in Dallas that we would call the Vulture,” I tell him.
He nods indicating he understands but asks, “I see some of the birds coincide with sports teams, Atlanta, Toronto, and Phoenix. However, some don’t make any sense,” he says to me.
“None of them are designed to be named after the sports franchise. They are named after birds that are indigenous to the city,” I tell him.
“Now that makes more sense. Such as Tampa being the Flamingo or Madison being the Snowy Owl,” he says smiling.
He reaches into his coat pocket and offers me one of his cigars. “Do you like a good cigar?” He asks me.
“Why, yes. My first wife made me give them up. She hated the smell of them so instead of constantly arguing with her, I just quit them.” I tell him.
He hands me the cigar, shakes my hand and goes back to check on his agent’s progress on the investigation.
I turn and go back inside.
CHAPTER 2
I see John is now up and eating. I just smile and giggle to myself. Bobby comes over to me and asks how many steaks or ribs would I like to eat, or would I prefer them to make me a regular breakfast? I followed John’s lead and took the ribs asking for 5 with some potato salad if there is any left.
“Any left, there’s maybe 6 or 7 large bowls of potato salad available,” Bobby tells me. He begins to heat up the ribs and heads to the big kitchen to get another bowl of potato salad.
John isn’t saying a word; he just keeps shoveling the food into his mouth. I see him with a glass of juice, no need to ask what flavor the juice is.
As we sit there, a run-over looking Missy scuffs into the kitchen. She kisses John on the cheek and comes over to me to do the same thing.
“Good Morning, my don’t we look all spiffy,” I say to her in a teasing manner.
“David, what day is it?” she asks.
“Sunday,” I tell her.
Her eyes get large and she says, “Shit. Where are my clothes? I have a shift at the restaurant at 2,” she says in a much more frantic manner.
“Darling, I believe that your clothes are on the floor in the garage next to your car where Sharon and I undressed you Friday night,” I say to her smiling the whole time. This makes John snort while eating.
Missy gets up and heads out to the garage. A few minutes later she came back inside and asked, “Um, how do I get out of the garage. The big door seems to be locked,” she says. I get up and follow her out to the garage. I undo the carabiner from the track and raise the door, pushing the open button. She starts her car and backs out telling me she will most definitely be back IF she’s welcome. I tell her that she is always welcome. As she is focusing on me, she almost runs over an FBI agent. I poke the button and open the front gate. She slowly drives her car through the gate and down the road. I close the gate as I see Captain Perez watching me.
I hit the button to shut the garage door and walk back inside.
After John finishes, I ask him to raise all the security shutters to allow the sunlight into the house. He tosses his plate with the empty bones into the trash and moves to the rear of the house to begin raising the shutters. His phone buzzes.
“Hello, this is John. No, you promised me that your measuring guys would be here today, not tomorrow. So, here’s the plan. If you are determined to not show up until tomorrow, you will see the company who has taken your job. Otherwise, you have until 3 this afternoon to have your measuring people here. Thank you and have a nice day,” he says without raising his voice or being nasty. I am very proud of him. He’s handling himself with great maturity and demeanor.
Dakota and Donna come scuffling into the kitchen, where Sammy pokes the button to fire up the coffee pot once again pouring out the now stale coffee.
It dawns on me that I haven’t seen any of my tenants nor the CG boys since yesterday. I’m pretty sure I know where they all are but decide to get up and go check for myself. I walk out to the pool house first. I knock and one of the CG boys opens the door. I ask if everyone is ok inside, he assures me that both he, his cousin and both twins are fine. I thank him and head over to the studio.
I knock on that door, but no one answers. I hear voices inside. I quietly open the door and step inside. There I see Allison with a camera on her shoulders and Belinda sitting upright with her back against a wall masturbating. She has a dildo that she is using to reach her pinnacle. Suddenly she stops. Allison asks, “What’s the matter? Why did you stop?”
Belinda just raises her arm straight out from her massive chest to point at me. I say, “I’m sorry, I guess I caused that,” causing Allison to jump but not drop the camera as she wasn’t expecting anyone to talk behind her.
I offer my services to help Belinda reach that all elusive orgasm. She nods in approval. I move over to her and pull on her legs sliding her body down to be flat on the ground. I lay between her legs and begin to lick her womanhood; I only get a few minutes in before there is a knock at the studio door. I here John announce himself asking if I was in there.
Allison tells him that I am, but I am rather busy currently, which makes Belinda smile as she begins to writhe her hips to my licking.
“Um, I’m sorry, but Special Agent Fernandez is inside in the living room wanting to speak to you,” he says through the door. Allison opens the door and I invite him inside.
“John, maybe you could finish what I have started since Special Agent Fernandez’s timing is rather poor,” I say getting up from between Belinda’s legs and wipe my face off with a towel I see on the counter. I head out pulling the door closed behind me and head inside. Once I was inside the house, I saw Special Agent Fernandez standing by the front door with an envelope in his hand.
“Special Agent Fernandez, what do I owe the occasion?” I ask.
“I’m just stopping by to give you this from the US Attorney,” he says to me as he hands me the envelope.
I open it and see yet another check inside. This one is for $250,000. I just shake my head.
“Is there a problem,” Fernandez asks me.
“No, no problem. You keep bringing me unexpected checks,” I say to him causing him to smile.
I offer him food, which he politely declines. I thank him and he leaves. I stand there looking at the check trying to figure what else to do with this money. I take it down the hall to Jill. I hand her the check and smile.
“Nice,” Jill says looking at the check.
I got to thinking about how I had stopped reading Bob’s diaries. I looked for the one that I had started. I found it in the living room, next to the couch on an end table. I picked the book up and settled into the couch to read some more. One item that I saw which interested me was a street sign company. Bob made a good point that most if not all street signs seem to be universal. As he put it in the book, “A stop sign is just that no matter where it might be posted in the US,” making note that it is possible for a company to bid on DOT contracts and make and ship to the various locations the signs.
I find a pen in the binder of the book and circle this idea.
I hear a crash in the kitchen. I get up and head to the kitchen to see an embarrassed Donna looking at the plate she dropped. Sammy is already getting the broom and dustpan to clean up the mess.
“Don’t worry about it, Miss Donna. We do this all the time,” Bobby tells her. I say to Donna and Dakota to not move as there is glass everywhere. Both of them pick their feet up and put them on the rungs of the chair.
Sammy is working diligently at sweeping up all the glass and dumping it into the trash.
As John works his way around the lower level of the house, Diane comes out and begins to help him. I see them stealing kisses here and there, which I find rather cute. It dawns on me that I have not asked Dakota how well John is doing with the new job of being my assistant.
“He’s doing quite well, Daddy,” she says to me.
“And, you, how are you doing? I’m not stressing you, out am I?” I ask, worrying about both John and her pregnancy.
“No. He’s listening and following directions. He’s starting to anticipate, which is good,” she says to me.
Amy now arrives, with both Donna and Dakota telling her that there is glass on the kitchen floor. This prompts Amy to go get the vacuum. She hands it to Sammy who plugs it in and turns it on.
After just a couple of minutes, Sammy has the entire floor vacuumed and he wraps up the cord and hands it back to Amy.
I put the diary from Bob into a drawer in the kitchen and head to my office to log onto my computer.
When I get there, I see my gorgeous wife already working.
“Hey there beautiful, when did you get up here?” I ask.
“Oh, about an hour or so ago. Rob sent us an email that you need to read,” she tells me, making me a bit nervous.
I turn on my laptop and get prepared for Rob’s email. Once loaded up I read the heading, “DANGER WILL ROBINSON, DANGER,” I smile because I know of Rob’s love for old TV shows, such as ‘Lost In Space’.
I open the email and it reads, “Well, as you anticipated, I found several former employees that have not been terminated off the system. Three of the horse tracks that you sold have all their employees still active in our system. I terminated all the employees from the horse tracks. Out of curiosity, did you acquire any casinos? I have found that we, Jaxson Inc. own THREE casinos. One in Oklahoma, one in Florida, and one in Arizona. The three total of more than 3,000 employees. I have made a list of them but need your direction on what to do with them. Please advise,” he writes to me.
“CASINOS, really?” I say out loud causing Jill to stop and inquire what’s wrong.
“Well, we apparently now own three casinos. Oklahoma, Florida, and Arizona,” I tell her.
“How did we acquire them?” Jill asks.
“I have no earthly idea. I have Rob looking into it,” I tell her.
“You’re not overloading Rob, are you?” She asks.
“Um, well I don’t know. I sent him about 20 or so people from the Hawk, but I’m not sure where we are on the other group,” I reply.
“Let’s call him, right now,” she says.
Jill picks up her cell phone and dials up Rob.
“Hey Rob, it’s me, Jill. David and I are worried that we may have overloaded you with this project. Are you doing OK?” She asks.
“Well, kind of. I mean the group that David sent me from the Hawk was a huge help, but now finding these four casinos,” he says before I stop him.
“FOUR? I thought you said there were only three,” I say with him on speakerphone.
“Well, they are in three states, but there are four casinos. One in Oklahoma, one in Florida, and two in Arizona. One near Tucson and one in Phoenix,” he tells us.
My mind races towards Tina and her being in Phoenix with her Mother.
Jill thanks Rob for his hard work and ends the call. I suggest, “Hey, since we will be traveling this week, why don’t we stop over in Phoenix to visit Tina and check on this casino that we own,” I say to Jill. She readily agrees.
CHAPTER 3
I see another email that interests me. It’s from Roger. It reads, “I heard about the shooting at your home. I guess the fools are stupid, shooting up a party that is full of FBI agents and their families. You need to set a plan in place when something like this happens, whether you are at the house or not. You may not be the target as you have three ladies who are pregnant. The bad guys may think that your weakness is through them,” he writes.
I reply that I agree with his belief that they may target the three pregnant ladies, but I joke ‘guess they haven’t met Dakota yet’.
As I sit at my laptop, staring at the screen, I look over to Jill who isn’t showing her pregnancy yet. I shrug my shoulders and go back to reading emails.
I check the email number and see that there are 311 emails. I round up the ones that are duplicates and delete them before I begin to read the ones labeled ‘read-only’. My task is to read and delete them, getting my email box empty. It takes about two hours to read all the emails.
“Hey, Hun, what do you think about getting John a truck of his choice? I think that he is getting frustrated with riding in Diane’s car all the time. I was thinking of maybe a Ford Expedition. I don’t want him to have a pickup as everyone he knows will always ask him to help them move their stuff,” I tell her.
“I think that is a wonderful idea. Have you come up with anything for Dakota yet?” She asks me.
“No,” I say to her.
We go back to working on our computers. About an hour later Jill exclaims, “There, my email box is now empty!” She says with a glee in her voice.
It is just over a half hour before my email inbox is also empty. We both close our laptops and head downstairs.
In the kitchen, I step on a small shard of glass all the way out into the dining room. I sit down and Dakota retrieves our first aid kit offering to take care of this for me. She squirts it with hydrogen peroxide, drying it with a piece of cotton wipe and puts some sav on it along with a ‘Hello Kitty’ Band-Aid. This garners several hoots and comments from the group. Even Jill laughed and commented about how ‘cute’ I looked with a ‘Hello Kitty’ Band-Aid.
As usual, Dakota did a fine job of taking care of me. It is still bothering me that I haven’t thought of something for Dakota yet.
I look around and decide to gather everyone that is inside the house currently.
“Hey, can I get everyone into the TV room please?” I ask.
It takes a few minutes, but once I see everyone I begin.
“Well, I’ve spoken with Roger though email and we have concluded that we need some plans put in place regarding this house and a state of lockdown. First, let me start with the scenario that either Jill or myself are here. Everyone takes a seat on the floor, no matter where they are. The closest ones to any windows will poke the buttons to drop the security shutters. Those who have a carry permit will retrieve their firearm, attaching it to their hip until the whole event is over,” I tell everyone. I see virtually all the group nodding their heads up and down indicating yes, they understood.
“Now the tougher scenario. If Jill and I are gone, but John is here. He becomes in charge. No one leaves and no one enters the house, except for law enforcement. Everyone knows that I’m not a fan of Lt. Horowitz, so do not let him inside no matter what he says. This is a private residence and he is not welcome. Should both John and Dakota not be here, then any of the four ladies Donna, Paula, Jennifer, or Sharon are to be in charge. If I call anyone and tell them to use code 69, I expect that the house is to be locked down no matter what. Does anyone not understand what I’ve described?” I ask.
No one has anything to say.
“Alright, time for a quiz,” I say to some surprised faces.
“If Jill and I are here and there’s an incident outside, who’s in charge?” I ask.
Paula raises her hand to answer the question, “Um, You and Jill are in charge. We are all to get on the floor. If you happen to be by a window, then it is your responsibility to drop the security shutters,” she says.
“THAT’S RIGHT!” I say happy to hear that at least one person is listening.
“If John is here, who’s in charge if Jill, Dakota, and I are not here?” I ask.
Again, Paula raises her hand, “If you three are not here, then John is in charge,” she tells every one of us.
What does code 69 mean?” I ask.
Once again, Paula with the answer, “It means, no matter what is going on, to put the house into lockdown,” she tells all of us.
“Now, anyone OTHER than Paula…. What happens if John, Dakota, Jill and I are not here but there is an incident outside?” I ask.
I see Paula wanting to raise her hand, but she keeps it down. Finally, Donna answers, “Then either Paula, Sharon, Jennifer, or I are in charge,” she tells everyone.
“THAT’S CORRECT,” I say out loud.
Paula still gets to point something out. “David, what if all four of us are here? Who’s in charge then?” She asks.
“Use your best judgment,” I tell everyone.
“One last question, whom here have I not bought a car for?” I ask, seeing Jill act a bit nervous.
John, Donna, Diane, Marcus, Amy, Missy, Danni, and Aurora. I do the mental math in my head, ‘this should spend the $250K and maybe even a bit more’.
Jill dismisses everyone.
There is a knock on the front door. Again, Jennifer opens it to see Captain Perez complete with his half a cigar that he is chewing on.
“I’m here to tell Mr. Greene something,” he tells Jennifer.
I come to the door, “Hello Captain,” I say to him.
“I just wanted you to know that the US Attorney has cleared you of being a suspect and she Thanks you for the two DVDs helping our investigation,” he tells me.
We shake hands and he says as he is leaving, “Ever make it to DC and we can go have a beer and a cigar together,” smiling the whole time.
“We should be there either Tuesday or Wednesday, so you’re not going to get rid of me THAT easily,” I say to him smiling as well.
He goes back outside and begins wrapping up the group of FBI agents, sending them home or back to the office. Once they are all gone, the courtyard looks nice with no agents buzzing around it.
As I close the front door, I hear John ask, “Hey, is there any more steaks left? I’m hungry,” he says smiling and causing a few giggles from some of the ladies.
There is a knock at the front door again. I open it to find the guy from the Ice truck.
“Um, sir I have to report that there is a couple of holes in the side of our truck,” he tells me.
I step outside and walk over to the truck. He points to not one but two holes. I notice that there is a third hole that he had not seen. I tell him that I’ll have my insurance take care of it, truth be known, I’ll have the people who repair our limos for Black Car and Happy, Happee Limo take care of the truck.
“I’ll keep the keys then, to get the truck repaired,” I tell them. We shake hands and off he goes in a waiting vehicle that is in the street outside the front gate.
I head inside and ask John and Marcus to finish emptying the ice truck into the many coolers that still line the outside of the house by the two pools. I direct him to get the dolly from the garage which he does to carry all the bags through the house and out to the poolside area. The CG guys see what is going on and join in to help,
Sammy doesn’t heat up any steaks for John as he is working on emptying the ice truck.
John does note, “David, you remember we have those big freezers in the big kitchen and the third kitchen. Maybe we should fill them first to keep and use the ice instead of putting them in the coolers and losing the ice.”
“John, that’s a great idea! Put the ice wherever you think it will fit before filling the coolers outside. In fact, maybe give a couple of bags to the twins in the pool house. I’m sure they could use one or two,” which causes John to smile even though he knows that the CG boys are dating them, but one can dream.
Marcus and John begin loading the dolly with bags of ice. It dawns on me that maybe we need more than one dolly, so I text Dakota to order a couple more dollies, the type that the beverage vendors use. They fold out to carry much more than just the regular standup dolly. She texts back her usual ‘K’.
I decide to head out to the ice truck to see just how many bags of ice still remained in the back. As I peered around the doors, I see maybe 200-300 bags still stacked up. I shook my head knowing that all of this won’t fit in the two freezers, but maybe John or Marcus can stack them to take a majority.
As I come back around the back of the truck, a car sits at the gate honking its horn. I see that it is Dr. Ronda. I walk over to the gate’s electronic panel, poke the appropriate buttons and the gate opens. As Ronda pulls through the gate, she blows me a kiss. I poke the necessary buttons to close the gate and think that maybe we need to have the gate company come and put different four-digit codes into the electronics so trusted people, such as Dr. Ronda don’t need me or anyone to let her in the gate.
Ronda parks her car, but I tell her that I would rather she park in the garage. I head inside the house to open a garage door. Ronda pulls her car into the garage, parking right where Missy had her car parked.
It dawned on me that maybe I need to buy Ronda a new car as well. Her car isn’t all that old, but it does have some mileage on it and as she seems to make Chateau calls, some for work, some for play maybe she needs a better one as well.
Once I get into the garage, I poke the buttons, the garage door closes behind her. I open her driver’s door to help her step out. She puts her arms around me and kisses me passionately.
When we break from our kiss I ask, “I’m guessing you’re not here for work then,” I say smiling.
“Well, actually I’m here for both work and play if that’s alright with you,” she says smiling back at me.
“Then let’s get the work out of the way,” I say.

Ronda has her coffee in one hand and takes my hand to lead me to my own bedroom. I hear the ladies joke saying, “Guess she needed some cream for her coffee,” causing all of them to giggle again.
Stupidly, I stop her before we get to the bedroom. “Hey, I thought you were here for some work,”
She stops and turns around saying, “Oh, you party pooper. I’ll go handle my work then you’re mine,” she says with a funny little smile.
Ronda goes back to the kitchen, where she had set her doctor bag down. She asked for Jill first. She put the blood pressure cuff on her, listened to her heartbeat, and asked several questions before declaring that Jill was moving along just fine with her pregnancy.

“Oh, I don’t think it’s anything, but she tells me that she is very hit and miss in taking her prenatal vitamins. David, she needs to take them regularly they don’t help her sitting in the bottle,” Ronda tells me.
I think for a moment and ask, “Does she have to take them with food or can she just take them anytime?”
“If she takes them in the morning, on an empty stomach is best or maybe even with a small glass of water. If they are making her sick to her stomach then take them at bedtime with a small snack,” Ronda tells me.
I think for a moment before I tell Bobby and Sammy, “Gentlemen before Dakota gets one drop of coffee, she must take her prenatal vitamin. This is important to me guys,” I say to them. Both chefs acknowledge what I have told them and agree.

“Would you really want me to move in here? And, what about all the shootings that have gone on here lately?” Ronda asks.

“Is that all you have to ask me? If I want to have a baby with you?”

Mark Newberg’s departure and his nieces Kim and Kay choosing to move out disappointed me. Tina moving away to her Mom’s house in Phoenix made sense, but still bummed me out a bit.
Thinking about Tina made me think that we will drop in on Tina and check on her on the way back from our East Coast/Tampa trip.
I checked with Dakota to make sure everything was set up with the jet for an early morning Tuesday departure. We discussed going to DC first, then down to Atlanta to see this building that Jennifer is trying to make a deal on, and then on to Tampa. On the return, we will stop unannounced in Phoenix to have a look in on our Tina.
I know that when Dakota gets further along with her pregnancy, she really won’t be going anywhere, but still, I want her to have time with the new baby, our baby.
Thinking about our three pregnant ladies, Diane is the first due in mid to late May. Dakota is next to be due in late June. Jill due after the Fourth of July and now, if I get Dr. Ronda pregnant before Christmas, she’ll be looking at an August or Labor Day due date. I laughed at my own joke; she goes into labor on Labor Day.
CHAPTER 5
As dinner time approached, Bobby and Sammy gathered us all to come to the dining room table. No one was surprised that John had his ass in a chair before anyone else. Although when Diane walked up to the table, John jumped up and pulled out a chair for her.
I pulled out three chairs. One for Jill, one for Dakota, and one for Dr. Ronda. John just sat there smiling being thankful that he only has one lady pregnant.
Bobby and Sammy announced that dinner was served. He made it clear that the ladies all get to go first. I looked around and didn’t see Mom nor Fred. I sent Paula after them thinking that maybe they didn’t hear the direction to come to Taco Sunday. Paula went down the hallway and came back seconds later telling all of us that she ‘was busy’. We all laughed as the ladies got up and made their tacos.
The hard-crispy shells were going at a rate of 10 to 1 over the tortillas. The chefs had shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream, Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses all shredded, both fresh and pickled jalapenos, homemade salsa, a mango-lime salsa, various hot sauces, a red-pepper based mole and a sweet tangy sauce.
As promised, they had a separate pan of meat for Mom with virtually no spice in it.
Diane took a small amount of both portions of meat and made two similar tacos, both with the flour tortilla. She put meat, lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded Cheddar cheese. She also took a spoonful of the mango-lime salsa, which she said tasted like nothing that she has ever had. That made both chefs smile as did me.
Jill and Dakota must have taken eating classes from John. They both took 4 crunchy taco shells each. Two shells for each meat. They put the meat in the shells then covered it with the fixings that they wanted.
John, Marcus, and I sat patiently. Jill asked where Allison, the porn twins, the CG boys, and Allison might be. John and I both got up and went outside. John went to the twin’s door telling the four of them that it was Taco night and that their presence was being missed at the dinner table.

The eating and socializing go on for a couple of hours. The CG boys regale us with tales of some of their amazing adventures working on the USCG Reliant. That leads Bobby and Sammy to add to the evening telling us about being aboard the ‘Big Stick’. All in all, it was a delightful time. A time that we all needed to let the stress of the recent events just go by.
As the dinner began to wind down, I asked Dr. Ronda to stay the night, but she said she had to get back home as she has a few patients in the hospital that she needs to visit before heading to the office in the morning. Before she leaves, she does make mention that moving in here would save her about a half an hour of drive time as it is so much closer to the hospital that she works out of.
“Just one of the things in the life of a doctor,” she tells me. I kiss her and walk her out to her car. I poke the buttons to open the garage door and the front gate. I watch her drive off thinking how the baby will be so beautiful, all because of her.
I close the gate then the garage door. Before I head back inside, I’m cornered in the garage with Jill.
“Are you really OK with Dr. Ronda wanting to have a baby by you?” She asks in a serious tone.
“Of course, I am. We discussed it before she ever came to ask you. She was all nervous that you would make her beg or embarrass her somehow,” I tell Jill.

“Seriously, you don’t feel uneasy that Dakota and I are already pregnant with your child and now Dr. Ronda wants one as well?”
“Actually, I feel quite honored. You and I had discussed this in bed a couple of times. Until she told me, I never knew that one of Dakota’s secrets was to have a baby and it really shocked me that she chose me as the Father. Now, Dakota says that I look at Ronda differently than any other of the playgroup,” I say to Jill.
“Well, you do. It’s almost as if you are trying to ‘make love’ to her each time you two get together. If I wasn’t your wife, I would probably be jealous,” Jill says to me.
“Really? Jealous? I would never have guessed,” I say to Jill.
“You realize that I’m still a woman, not just your wife and a Marine,” she replies.

John finished number 8, then 9, then 10. At number 11, John showed a major slow down. He struggled through the taco. He just stared at taco number 12. Unbeknownst to him, Jennifer had rigged it. She put a couple of pickled jalapenos underneath all the fixings. She let the juice from the jalapeno drip all over the meat before adding the fixings.
John picked up the taco and took a huge bite, deciding that if he took two or three big bites, it would be done with quickly.
However, with the mystery item in the taco, John swallowed the bite and yelled, “Holy Fuck!”. He knew instantly who set him up. He went over to the fridge and poured himself a big glass of milk, sat back down and took another huge bite. He chewed and swallowed before taking a big swallow of milk. On the final bite, he dangled the bite over his mouth before shoving it in. The girls all laughed as Jennifer had to hand over the money collected to John.
John counted the money and gave me half of the winnings. I just told him to keep it. I knew in my heart that he would have a solution to the secret ingredient that his Mother has put in the taco.
Bobby and Sammy both laughed out loud asking John if he wanted any more tacos. This drew laughter from everyone. All in all, John had made over $100 from that little bet. His Mother said it was the best money spent on John in a long while.
Mom and Fred finally made it out to the dinner table. Mom went over to the little pan that the chefs had waiting for her with little to no spice. She took a spoonful and kissed each one on the cheek telling them the meat was perfect. Fred let her make a plate before he made one for himself. He took 4 hard taco shells filling two each with each meat. He really didn’t take much of the fixings. He took some lettuce, some diced tomatoes, and some shredded Cheddar cheese.
While he was eating, I asked the table to vote for the meats. Pan one, the yellow pan. Pan two the blue pan. As I went around the table it seemed to go back and forth yellow, blue, yellow, blue, blue, yellow and on and on.
After everyone had cast their vote, it was blue ahead by one vote, but Fred had not voted. He chose yellow. That tied it all up and the two chefs shook hands and decided to do the same thing the next taco night.
As the night went on, people began heading to bed since tomorrow was a workday. Jill and I were one of the last ones to leave the table with Dakota following us to our bed. I stripped down, Jill did the same, as did Dakota. We all snuggled up together and drifted off to sleep.
I opened my eye checking that I had put my phone on the charger, which I had before I drifted off to sleep with my two darlings all snuggled up to me.
Yes, being that chauffeur that moment in my life changed things for the better.
