The next morning I woke up with the morning light shining through my window; I was alone. I called out for anyone but the spacious beach house seemed to be abandoned. By the light outside I guessed it was mid-morning, perhaps around 10:30 AM. “I won’t help break up my parents marriage!”
“no one is asking you to. I still love your father, but I need to explore these feelings for Tony, at least for one more night. I’d love my son to be there to watch me, make sure everything is O.K.”
She turned fully around as she said this and I saw tears in her eyes. God, she wanted this. And she wanted me there too.
“OK mom” I said slowly, “since you want me there, I’ll be there”.
Her eyes lit up as she grabbed me in a hug.

I was both terrified and excited. I truly had no idea what to expect.

I found out later that night that Tony had used the excuse of having a ‘horrible cold’ as a way of staying home while my dad and Amy went on the overnight trip to get the girls so he was locked away in the master bedroom when me and my mom said our goodbyes to Amy and my dad.

Amy looked anxious at the pier, as if she knew what Kelly and Tony were planning……

We went to the master bedroom. Tony opened the door wearing jeans but nude from the waist up.

“It’s for tonight” Tony added as he sipped the tequila shot.
