Ohope Beach Chapter 1.
It was summer 65 and a bunch of my mates and I travelled down to Ohope Beach, on the east coast of North Island NZ, for a boozy camping holiday. We descended on the town on our motorbikes, having ridden down from Auckland. One of the fathers had delivered a tent and some camping gear for us, as he drove through to Opotiki, where they had a holiday Bach. This was the main reason we had chosen Ohope Beach as our summer destination, and the fact it was meant to have dozens of girls there and no guys. Rumour had it that all the guys went to the big party beach’s North of there – Mt Maunganui etc.
The rumours were pretty accurate, although the girls were mostly fifteen or younger. We were all around eighteen, and the legal age in NZ was sixteen, so we thought we may have made a mistake. One of our mates had an Anglia van and we had filled it up with quite a few cartons of beer, a dozen pint bottles of DB brown or Lion Red in each. We proceed to party as soon as we had our sleeping bags off the bikes and into the tent. By 8:00pm that night we had our first of many warnings about keeping the noise down and to stop harassing the girls. We didn’t really upset too many people, and quite a few of the people around us joined in and had a good time as well.
The next day we spent on the beach, did a bit of surfing, but as we only had two boards, mostly we just sunbathed and told stories. We had quite a following of young girls, but it was obvious the majority were never going to be let out that night to party with us guys. So the talk turned around to our packing up and heading back up to Mt Maunganui where we had spent the previous Christmas. Those arguing against moving, pointed out that we would struggle to get a camp site there now, and it was going to be bloody difficult to carry the tent up there on our bikes. I wasn’t that keen on moving, as the others seemed to have very short memories, we had not exactly been overrun with females when we had stayed at the Mount the year before. The consensus was we would give it another day.

The next morning, we talked with some guys camped near us, and found that they were traveling up to the Mount the next day, as some camp sites had come free. Also they said we could get the tent on their trailer if we wanted. So we all agreed to pack and leave the next morning. About 10:00am my mate Phil and I headed down for a shower, right down the other end of the camp of course. As we meandered along the camp road between the tents and caravans, a car drove up behind and tooted us. We turned around to find two girls in a falcon station wagon trying to drive past us. “You sure do talk some rubbish, but keep it up; you may get to believe it”. She said, giving me a mock serious look.
I just laughed and replied that no matter what she said, I could not believe she was old enough to have a daughter that age. “Beside you are far too pretty to be a mother, with the best set of tits I have seen at this beach. What are your names”?
“Allison! And this is my daughter Hayley. And you can keep the language clean around my daughter thanks”.

Allison burst out laughing. “Very good, we may see you later then”. With that she let out the clutch and drove off.
Phil wanted to know what that was all about. He was all talk about how great Hayley was and that we were definitely in with a chance.
As we walked on to the showers, I told him he may be OK but I had no chance, as attractive as Allison was, she had to be 20 years older than me, was married and would never be interested. But Phil would not be put off, he said that like it or not, I was going with him tonight, if only to entertain Allison so he had a chance at getting alone with Hayley.
After lunch, I walked down to the park and met Jenny. She apologized for last night and cuddled up to me. I took her hand and we walked up into the bush. At the top of the track we walked off to the left and came out of the bush onto fields that overlooked the houses and the beach below. We spread out our towels and lay down, we couldn’t be seen from below, but we had a beautiful view of the beach.

“We have had my husband’s brother and family turn up. They are staying for dinner, but they won’t be late, as they have to drive back to Rotorua to night. Will you come back later, Hayley will be disappointed if you don’t; she tells me you guys are leaving tomorrow”.
I realized there was a black car parked by hers that had to be the brothers.
“No problem, Phil is pestering me about staying sober, he is very keen. So I guess he will be down looking for that car to go every half hour”.
Allison laughed at that, and said “Of course you are not interested in my breasts anymore, are you”.
That got me a bit tongue tied, and I spluttered out something stupid, to the effect that did still think they were nice.
Allison turned to Phil and told him he had to behave with Hayley. “She is only 16 you know, and her father is a real bastard, he would do you damage if he finds out about you.
“Hey Phil is OK, he will look after her”. I said.
Allison nodded, turned and walked back to their friends; Phil grabbed me and pulled me up between the tents next door onto the beach frontage. “Shit, what are you doing, they will see us”.
“Keep your head down, I want to have a look at Hayley”. He said.
The first thing we heard was the older guy asking who those guys were. Allison told him they were just a couple of young guys that had the hot’s for Hayley and she had shooed us off. The guy looked to be a bit of an arsehole, and asked Allison if we were going to be any trouble and that he would sort us out before he left. Both Allison and Hayley talked to him, convincing him that they were perfectly OK and we were leaving the next day etc. His wife even told him to settle down, just because Bob had asked him to check on the girls, didn’t mean he had to get so Bolshie and protective. I figured out that Bob had to be Allison’s husband. “Allison, of course. I’ll get real upset if you call me Mrs Fraser. What about you Dave”.
“I don’t want to drink beer; I’ll have whatever you are having”.
“Right said Allison, you two get the music on. Not too loud, Hayley. And Dave and I will go get the drinks.
I followed her into the caravan and she grabbed a bottle of beer from the fridge, which I took out to Phil. When I went back into the caravan, Allison was mixing us a Bacardi and coke.
“Sit down and tell me about you and the guys you are traveling with. Allison looked out the door, then shut it and came and sat next to me at the table. “They are dancing, so we can leave them alone for a bit.”
I told her that there were 10 of us all together, Phil, myself and three of the others were all in our second year of an aircraft engineering apprenticeship. The other five guys were either drawing or engineering apprentices and one guy was a builder. She asked what my bike was and I told her that it was a 1954 Matchless G45 500cc twin. I took a sip of my drink and realized it was empty, glanced over and saw that hers was as well. “Hey! We have been talking for over half an hour; we had better get out and see what Phil and Hayley are up to.” I said.
“You go out, I’ll make us another one, and take Phil a can of beer, there is one in the fridge there.”
“I don’t think I will have another one thanks. I should get going soon.” I was worried that Jenny may turn up and find me not there.
“You’re not going without having a dance with me. You can dance, can’t you?”
“Yes, I took dance lessons at school.”
I grabbed the can from the fridge and followed Allison out into the awning. I was quite large, as it ran the full length of the caravan. The far end was partitioned of into two bedrooms, which left a large area, where Hayley had cleared the table, chairs etc., away to the side, so we had room for dancing. “Yes, but it is not a permanent thing.”

“I’m not being nosey, it’s just that Hayley has this guy she sees and she tells me she is not sleeping with him, but I find it really hard to believe. My age thinks all the kids today are sleeping around, it’s in the music and everywhere.”
“No, honestly I’m not; she says we shouldn’t until we get married.” I said.

“You mean me being older than you, I think.” She replied.
“Well a bit of that. I never thought for a minute you would have wanted to do anything. Even when I was massaging you, I didn’t dare hope you would go any further.”
“Well to be honest with you, I made the decision this morning that I was going to have you. Now come here and cuddle me, I don’t want you rolling over and going to sleep like my stupid husband.”
So I moved over next to Allison and pulled her into me. She placed her head on my shoulder and lay one leg over mine, rubbing herself into my thigh and giving a little giggle.
“You know you’re not going anywhere for a while, so if that young girl has managed to get out to night, she is out of luck.”
“I’m OK with that, but what about Hayley?”
Allison looked up at me. “I’m not sure what she is going to think. She does not get on with her father, so I don’t think she will be too worried, but I will just have to play it by ear tomorrow.”
