This summer it will be hot

Introduction:
This is just the beginning. When I started writing it, I never imagined that it would be this big. So, this is only the first part .The beginning is slow, but I like it this way. i don’t like to rush into things. Enjoy!
The bell rang, announcing the end of another long and boring school year. Students flowed into the hallways. A tumult stood through all the school. The students shouted, laughed and talked loudly while walking towards the exit. The most impatient ran towards it.
A fourteen year old boy with long blond hair, falling on his shoulders and sad deep blue, almost sapphire eyes walked through the enormous crowd towards the school’s main doors, but he wasn’t paying attention to all the noise around. Iphone ear-buds plugged his ears and let him hear only the “Dark Water” track from an album named “Sheisinbyouin”. Jake liked this album. Together with “Cellblock” it was the ideal album for listening in school. It expressed perfectly all the boy’s thoughts about school. And it was right. What is school in the end but a combination of a prison and mental asylum?
Jake reached the exit and went out. The shift of atmosphere and feeling was immense. Vast, open spaces filled with light were much more better than the narrow, crowded and somehow gloomy school’s hallways. Everything looked brighter than usual under the midday rays of the Sun, shining from a light blue cloudless sky. A smile appeared on Jake’s face. He even removed the ear-buds from the ears and turned off the the music in order to enjoy the first day of summer. He took a breath of the warm air and all his being was filled by only one thought: Summer is here!
No more school for three months, no more disturbing and lousy classmates, no more old teachers, standing on the brink of total mental collapse, no more tests and what is the most important, no more physical education lessons with that fat teacher. At least for three months Jake can forget about all these things. He wished that he was older and finishing the twelfth grade and graduating from this place. But this is very distant future. He is only fourteen and he still got plenty of years to study in this place of wickedness.
Jake walked trough the little garden in front of the school and then when he reached the sidewalk, he turned left and went towards the city centre. From it he will go to the beach and then go along the lake’s shore north, to his house.

It was a beautiful afternoon. The rays of the Sun were shining, reflected from the calm surface of the lake’s waters on Jake’s left. Small waves crushed onto the fine yellow sand of the beach. On the left stood palms, casting big shadows on the beach. Lush dark green bushes and smaller trees covered the ground between the tall palms. Sometimes a house appeared between the vegetation. They were the summer houses, that stood on the northern border of the city. Jake’s house was the last in their row, showing the town’s border on the beach.
Now these houses were empty, but after several days, life will fill them. Women will be skin dipping on the beach, children will be playing in low waters and during the night there will be a disturbing tumult of music, people’s shouts and sometimes sirens, that will disturb Jake’s sleep. The summer was the best time, summer was the worst time.
Jake looked ahead and saw that the process of inhabiting these empty houses had already started. An Asian boy about Jake’s age stood on the piece of beach in front of a two storey white house with black tiled roof. Jake get closer to him. The boy noticed him, turned in his direction and smiled. And something happened to Jake. His mouth went dry, he felt anxiety rising inside his stomach. And for the first time in years a smile appeared on his face. The boy looked Thai. He was of the same height as Jake, maybe slightly taller. His skin was slightly tanned and of an olive colour, typical for the people of South East Asia. “Hi! I am Jake”-said the blond boy. For some reason he started a conversation, which was another thing very unusual for him.
“I am Chandra”-responded the Thai boy-”I am new here. Will stay at this town all summer.”
“This is great! We can spend a lot of time together”-said Jake at the same time thinking what made him some talkative. Never before Jake has spoken so well with someone. Apart from Jean.
“Yes! You live here?”
Jake nodded and pointed to the one story house ahead with the glass wall shining from the Sun rays.
“So, we are neighbours. That’s great. How old are you?”-asked Chandra.
“Turned fourteen three moths ago.”
“No way! Believe me or not, but me too. Strange coincidence, right?”
Jake nodded. He looked at the smiling boy, at his shining teeth and eyes and a thought crossed his mind and struck him like lightning. For the first time in his life he has a friend. Not a parasitic vampire leech, but a real one.
“What are you doing right now?”-asked Jake. He wanted to walk around with Chandra, to show him the town, to laugh with him.
“Nothing special”-said Chandra.
“Maybe we…”-Jake started, but a female voice from the house interrupted him.
“Chandra! Your stuff won’t go itself to the room”-it shouted.

“So, how is school?”-asked Jean.

“Like usual”-commented the man, wearing a blue tie-dye shirt and blue jeans-”Straight A-s, apart from physical education.”
“The teacher is just unbearable”-said Jake.

Jake nodded with the head and bit one of the sandwiches.

“The teacher says that it’s good for our health.”

“Yeah”-said Jake. He took a sip of the yellow pineapple juice from the glass.
“I have some news”-said Jean-”Tonight I must go to work. I am Dj-ing at a local party, so I will return Sunday around twelve am.”
Jake nodded. Jean had a strange working schedule, but Jake was used to it. After all, his uncle was a Dj and a very good one. And also a music producer.
“I will spend a whole Saturday all alone”-commented the blonde boy.
“Yes! But this isn’t all. At Monday, your cousin will arrive. He will spend the whole summer with us. His parents will be on tour all summer long. First gigs after all. Do you remember Leo Jake?”
Jake shook the head left and right.

“How old is he?”
“Fourteen. Believe me, he is nice. You will get along well together. And the last thing for today is that our new neighbours invited us for dinner.”
“The Thai ones?”-asked Jake with a curious voice. Jean’s words stirred again memories about Jake and made something stir in Jake’s pants.
“Yes! I spoke with them. They are very friendly and they have a boy of your age.”
“Chandra”-said Jake.
“You had already met him?”
“Yes! I think we are friends now”
“Now that’s great news! You need a friend.”

“Okay. I am convinced”-said Jake. He got up from the table and placed the dish and glass in the sink.

“And what music do you have here?”-asked Chandra and walked to the Cd shelve.
“It’s not very popular and I think you had never heard it before”-said Jake. He followed Chandra and tried not to look down at his buttocks.
“Can we listen to something?”
“No problem. But you choose the music.”
“What about some recommendations?”
“No recommendations. It’s more interesting this way”-said Jake. Now he stood left to Chandra.

During the pause, when the Cd-s were switched inside the player, Chandra said to Jake in a heavy and tired voice:
“That was fantastic! Never heard anything like it before. Never danced so wild either. Come on Jake! Loose up a little!”
“I’ll try”-said the blond boy and made a little smile.
The second CD started and when the beat began, Chandra again made an amazed face.
“This is even harder than the previous one”-he said with wide eyes and a large smile on the red face, covered with face. Jake didn’t say anything. He also was amazed by the kick. He only had listened to this Cd once and on a portable player with ear-buds, not on hi-fi stereo sound system. Both boys started danced. And they danced like nobody is watching. During the dance, Jake started to feel better and more at ease. Soon, he lost all sense of time. Only when the Cd ended, he understood that he danced with Chandra for an hour.
